PLANT AND GARDEN CENTRE:

Part of the former fruit-garden at Trelissick has now been transformed into an impressive and varied plant and garden centre, selling seasonal, colourful and exotic plants, a collection of garden ornaments and decorations to transform outdoor areas and a number of gardening tools. The centre sells National Trust branded seeds, classic and strong terracotta plant-pots to sustainable Eco-pots made from recycled plastic and a number of gardening accessories, all sourced in the UK.

The National Trust has worked in collaboration with Wildlife World to create a wide range of wildlife houses and habitats to encourage caring for wildlife and animals.

In 1999, The National Trust voted to stop using peat to grow plants. Peat-land habitats absorb large amounts of water, meaning they are a natural flood defence and maintain a diverse ecosystem in the world. Constantly mining peat destroys these habitats and peat can take lifetimes to regenerates, meaning the landscapes can take centuries to return to the way in which they were. Peat Free compost is available at the centre, suitable for patio gardening, container growing, and tree, shrub and flower planting and potting.

Monday - Sunday: 10.30am - 5.30pm.

My name is Ella Hubbard and I am currently studying a BA (Hons) course in Applied Media, following completion of a foundation degree in English Literature. I am planning to progress onto an Initial Teacher Training course on completion of my degree. I am interested in how English and writing can be incorporated into creative media through the use of text and writing aids on websites, presentations and other creative formats. I am particularly interested in mixed-media photography and the inclusion of text to accompany and support my images.
